A Food I like is . . . . .
Mofongo, it’s a Puerto Rican dish with plantains, pork, olive oil, and garlic.
The reason why I like Mofongo is the taste and where I had gotten it from. I had gotten it a few years ago when I was on a cruise with friends. One of the places where the ship had stopped was in the Dominican Republic. Initially, I was focused on sight seeing and getting gifts for my parents. I hadn’t bought any food from the Dominican Republic while we were there, but my friend Zeek had bought some Mofongo for himself and had extra to spare. That led to me asking to try some and from there (with his permission), I practically cleaned the plate. That was the first time I had Mofongo and I haven’t had it as much ever since then. It’s mostly because I don’t know many places in Philly that make it or make it as good as it was when I got it from the Dominican Republic.
The only other times when I had it and it was good, was when my friend made it himself. If I had the spare time at home, I would attempt to make it so I can learn the recipe and eat it in Andrea’s classes.
Outside of actually trying the food. My guy friends and I had a long running inside joke related to the food and some other foods. We just found the name of the food a bit funny so we would joke a about it as well when we were younger
